I was reading an article today on the Charlotte Observer online:
Work re-starting on Park condos - CharlotteObserver.com#

It is cool to see another tower (albeit only 23 stories) going up in Uptown again. It is also nice that the vacancy rate for office space in the towers are doing better! Hopefully other projects for Uptown that were once planned such as the 75+ story Trump Tower and others will take off again. We have a great downtown (Uptown) and want to see it continue to grow up and out. I think the city landing the DNC in 2012 will also certainly help it grow!

This isn't a new tower. They are claiming they have come up with the money to finished the Park which has sat there for 3-4 years bankrupted. Of course, everyone who put a deposit on the place and we are talking about multiple tens of 1000s of dollars each, won't get these units. Essentially they were robbed of their money.

While that is not good that those people won't be getting their money, it is good that this building will be finished. It has been sitting vacant for years and has been an eyesore. I'm glad this building will be finished and I hope something can be worked out for the people who lost their money.
