Any good recommendations for places that repair tv's for a reasonable price? Some lightning struck near my house in the yard and caused a surge that blew out my fairly new LCD tv. I'm hoping it's cheaper to repair it than buy a new one.

I had a LCD with built in DVD player that stopped working I used Ace TV at the intersection of Sugar Creek & The Plaza. 4102 The Plaza, Charlotte, NC 28205 - Google Maps

The area it is in not the greatest so be alert and not flashy but he fixed the problem and I felt he was reasonable.

I had dealt with Don's TV Service (704) 893-4178 ... I did not choose them, but Squaretrade Warranty uses them and they were quick enough for me. Professional too. I have never been there though, so I dont know about their location, they were an in-home drop by thing.

How new is the TV? If you paid with a credit card, it may automatically offer accidental damage insurance. (e.g. American Express has 90 day coverage)

You can also check with your homeowners / renters policy to see if lightning is covered. You'll have a deductible, but could get the tv replaced altogether.
