I am interested in moving to NC from NY and looking for a town similar to Mooresville yet about 2 hours away, with a small town feel, very family-friendly, safe, good schools, with a lot of activities for children. I am only familiar with the Mooresville area and would like suggestions for other areas to consider. Thank you so much for any assistance!

Is your job located 2 hours away? If so, where is it?
No, haven't secured one yet, am on a leave of absence now. Would like to put some distance from my husband's ex-wife. I would like to work in a courthouse. Thank you.

2 hours from Mooresville makes for a very large area. We would do you a dis-service to start recommending places without knowing where the job would be. What if we recommended Mt. Airy & you spent a lot of time researching it & found a great house & the job was in Charlotte? That is not a commutable distance.
You would probably be best served to post in that area.....
you are on two different ends of the spectrum...
