Thanks Chromekitty. I mention these two areas as I have heard about them, however I am flexible so long as the town is similar in kind to Mooresville which I have visited numerous times and really like. That is the type of area I am looking for my family. If you have any suggestions from your experience or people you know that live in NC I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again!
His company has locations in Charlotte and Raleigh but willing to commute a bit (up to 40-45 minutes if need be) for a great community for families with a lot of childrens' activities where they will be safe and happy. Also that our blended family will feel welcome.

Please explain to us what it is specifically that you like about Mooresville.
And are you talking about the part of Mooresville on the lake, or the real Mooresville with the quaint Main Street and more modest homes?
Off the top of my head just from what you have said, I'd suggest you look at Summerfield and Oak Ridge north of Greensboro.
I like the small town feel, family-friendly, very community oriented, great and safe for kids, good schools, proximity to shopping and restaurants. I am most familiar with the area around exit 36. It would be a big move for us & I want it to be home at last and somewhere we could buy a house.

To me, that is the ugliest part of Mooresville (exit 36), lol, so there are plenty of other places nicer than that!
Thanks so much lovesmountains. Would you prefer Greensboro to Raleigh-Durham? Are there similar areas to consider there? safe, good schools and family-friendly top considerations. I do not want to be near any areas that will not be safe for my little ones especially since I do not know where that is never having lived in NC.
yantosh22 are you serious about Marion?? I did some research and read previous posts...meth labs, trailer parks, only shopping in town Walmart, nothing for kids to do, locals see others, even NC natives, as undesirable....far from what I am looking for my family.
