We're trying to get a jump on daycare options for next year (mid-2011). Is there a good daycare provider in the University or Northlake area that provides care for infants as young as 8 weeks? What should we expect in terms of monthly daycare expenses from a reputable, quality provider? Are there things we should watch out for when researching these facilities? Recommendations, suggestions and advice will be well appreciated

I had friends that used Pal a Roos in Huntersville but there is also one on Mallard Creek

PAL-A-ROO'S Child Development Center

Use the NC State Child care rating they can tell you on any facility their ratings and what incidents have occured.

NC Div of Child Development- Searching Resources in Child Care

Also heard good things about Kids R kids, also off Mallard Creek

Child Care & Day Care Centers in North Carolina | Kids 'R' Kids Schools of Quality Learning

The main thing is visit, you get an idea of how the facility is run and how you feel about it.

Regarding pricing you can pay any thing from $560 a month up to over $800 depending on the facility, in our experience churches tend to be lower and we actually moved our children to a church day care when my youngest turned 2.

Good luck and congratulations

KidsRKids - $259/wk
Palaroos - $235/wk

In my experience, home day care is the best. Try Babysitters, Nannies, Child Care & Senior Home Care - Care.com or Find a Babysitter at Care4hire.com. ALWAYS do a background check

We just moved from the Concord area. I had a fantastic sitter that babysat my daughter. We were sad that we had to leave her. She is off of Mallard Creek on Prosperity church. She is caring for an infant ( I think she's only part time currently) now but looking for another one to watch full time. She watches twins (18 months) on a part time basis. Maybe only one or two days week. If you would like her information DM me. I also did a background check on her.
