We are thinking a moving to Charlotte and are coming next week to get a feel for the area. We are staying at the Hilton city center. I have already got many great suggestion from this site about things to do.

we are going to:

the lazy 5 zoo

Charlotte Catawba queen boat trip to get a feel for the lake

We have a meet and great at a home in Tega Cay which is the area we would like to live on the water.

We plan on stopping by the South park mall.

Panther game on Sunday

We are going to eat at Basil, Carpe diem or Aria tuscan grill.

I need some breakfast suggestions. I see the pancake house is downtown. Where else is a yummy breakfast spot.

Thanks for the information.

Pewter Rose and Providence Cafe are both excellent for brunch on the weekends.

Lazy 5 Ranch - I'm assuming you have young kids? Otherwise, waste of time that you could use exploring.

There is much better and less expensive Thai in Charlotte than Basil but I guess it's within walking distance to your hotel. Likewise Aria. Overrated. I'd go to Coco Osteria instead.

Toast or Egg at the Lake Davidson for breakfast

Since you are looking to get a feel for the lake,
you may also want to visit the Energy Explorium at
the McGuire Nuclear station as it has a lot of information
about how, why and when Lake Norman was made.
