No West Virginia high school fared well on a national level. While GW was first in the state, it was ranked 748th nationally. No other high school cracked the top 1,000 in the country.
Morgantown High School was the second-rated school in the state, with Fairmont Senior High School coming in third. Two other local schools received rankings: Hurricane High came in fourth in the state, and Nitro High was sixth.
