It is official that the four story building in Cross Lanes is going to be another Holiday Inn Express. The reason they stopped working on it for a few months was because they ran out of $$$. But now they are working again, and it looks good. Just another one for the books to go along with the other three, plus the soon to be Holiday Inn in South Charleston. Too much of one thing isn't always a bad thing, but in this case it stinks.

Right in the middle of the Village District, in walking distance to both the Clay Center and Town Center/Civic Center. The building has plenty of room for both a large hotel and possible first level retail center. I could see a couple of restaurants on the bottom floor, with a lobby and main entrance on the Lee street side. The building could even leave the retro look, and place its name and logo on the silver marquee.

Chris, i like your idea for the old S&T building. It would be ideal for ground floor retail, and a hotel or offices above. At one time FiberNet (now Lumos) was looking to purchase the building around 2006 or 07. But they decided on the building out by the airport.

If I had the money I'd do it!

Did you hear that the Quarrier Street Diner opened again? I think it is great to see another restaurant in that building.
