Looking into a job near the Capital complex.

Anyone know anything about living/commuting from Dunbar? I'd prefer to NOT be on I64 EVER in the commute.

What about The Oaks in Dunbar. Anyone know what it's like to live there? Crime nearby?

All help appreciated.

Hi,

For what it's worth, I'd go I-64 East everytime

The Oaks is an older apartment complex, but not terribe. The crime in that area isn't that bad, but can be near Dunbar's downtown

To get to the capital from the Oaks, follow Roxalana Rd. East until you get to WV Route 25---four lane. That will take you to Patrick Street. From Patrick St take the Kanawha BLVD.----4 lane--- it follows the river and will get you right in front of the capital complex.

Any questions, post back

We stopped at The Oaks last week. Was told she didn't have any apts. Maybe you got one, though. It looked nice, . Hope you found what you want. We are looking for a place for our Daughter. If you have any advice from your looking around, I would certainly appreciate it. We are really confused, and worried about getting a safe place for her.

Dunbar Towers is a complex for those with varying disabilities, or the spouses of those who have passed who had them when they moved in, etc. Some are elderly, some are not, it varies and there are different reasons for each tenant. I used to know someone who lived there years ago. But it's not for "civilians" in that you cannot just walk in and rent a place.

Dunbar bridge traffic was real bad until they opened up the new bridge. Traffic can still get heavy though.

As far as Dunbar - nice little area - inexpensive so don't expect many thrills. Hope this helped
