Well, I made it to Charleston after taking short peaks at some of the surrounding towns coming from the East and Kentucky yesterday. I've been on the road for nearly two weeks coming from New Mexico and was so excited that I finally arrived here.

I was able to walk around a little last night, but now I am feeling a little trapped in the hotel with no snow boots and little idea of the city.

Any suggestions (it is now Saturday, before Noon).

Since the weather isn't the best, maybe try the Clay Center. It is a museum that also has a nice auditorium that has shows from time to time. Looking at their web site, it looks like they are having a few shows this weekend. You might also try the Charleston Town Center if you haven't already found it. Charleston also has a comedy club called the Comedy Zone but I'm not sure if they have any acts this weekend. If you like comedy and the Comedy Zone isn't having anyone, check out the Funny Bone in Huntington. It's at Pullman Square so there are a few other things you could check out there as well. Hope this helps and here are links to the above mentioned venues.

Thanks for all the suggestions, tbailey1138. I wasn't really able to get my fair share of beautiful downtown Charleston--although I will say I liked every bit I saw.

I had one of the best cups of coffee at Taylor's Bookstore, and sat awhile with the folks and bought a book. Other than that I drove around to see what the city felt like, but have to make a deadline in PA so I've moved onto Morgantown.

What a difference these two towns/cities are--rolling hills that never here in Morgantown, and all those flat grid-like streets in Charleston. Like oil and water!
