We are fairly new to the area and so far we love it here. Many of our neighbors in our development speak very highly about knightsville elementary. Our son will possibly be attending kindergarten there next year and I wanted to see if anyone had any pros/cons they could share about the schoool. I know everyone talks about D2 schools, but they all vary slightly when it comes to test scores. I am also interested in the level of art and extracurricular activities offered in addition to class quality.

thanks in advance

Art is usually a low priority in Elementary schools mainly due to budgetary constraints and it is more important to teach kids to read than paint, color, etc...

Knightsville is a pretty good school, they don't have much of a special ed department but overall a good school.....

What types of extracurricular activities are you looking for, most things are not supported in Elementary schools, see point 1...

Why don't you take your neighbors' words about that school. They should also know what other activities the school supports.

I know several parents who have kids there and they are very pleased. You may want to make an appointment with the principal and take a tour.

Yup a quick visit with the Principal should answer many of your questions.Start your 'inspection' the minute you hit the office. You can tell lots about a school by the attitude of everyone in the school, front office staff, volunteers you see in the hallways, the kids, the teaching staff....everyone gives clues as to what kind of environment exists.
