I was wondering if anyone knew of any local groups or organizations for newly relocated/soon to be relocated people. I have found some for other areas but have been unable to find any for Charleston. Thanks.

I am not sure if there are any that are "relocation or newbie" specific, but meetup.com might be a good way to meet people with similiar interests in the Charleston area, just a thought?

Ok, thanks Skyegirl.
Newtotheocean: I was just wondering if there were any groups geared towards people new to the area offering a chance to meet new people or ask questions.

there is usually a Newcomers Group for each area, there is the East Cooper Newcomers Group - they meet once/month....usually you an find it advertised in the clubs section of www.thepostandcourier.com, they had their luncheon this past Wednesday, for more information you can contact Carolyn at 843-388-5723 or cmrunquist@aol.com

Yes - meetup.com. There is a group on there called newintown that has events pretty often. But there are several meet up groups on there in the Charleston area that are geared towards many interest specific areas. Check it out. Good luck with your move!
