As a Realtor, I and I am sure other forum member Realtors are often asked for a simple map of the Charleston area that show the towns of Mt. Pleasant and Summerville in relation to the Charleston historic district, the Charleston area beaches, the Charleston AFB and other areas of interest. Although these locations relative to Charleston are known to Charleston area residents, this is not the case to out of town residents.
I have put together two simple maps of the Charleston area, to include a close up of the Mt. Pleasant area that may prove helpful to out of town forum members and forum visitors.
True, this shows Mt. Pleasant, however it doesn't correctly show where all the 'growth' in Mt. Pleasant is....you should position your arrow a little farther down 17 as not to mislead as it can take a while to get downtown from out on 41 or out in North Mt. P where Wando HS is...
I positioned the arrow for Mt. Pleasant about the center of the town. It is true that the growth is occurring further out. However, I suspect that there are currently more residents living south of highway 41 rather than out or past highway 41. I live in Longpoint adjacent to Snowden, located on the map just below the "Town of Mt. Pleasant" label. It takes me approximately 20 - 25 minutes during rush hour to get downtown to the vicinity of MUSC and Roper Hospital. It is also important to keep in mine that the town has already started the widening of highway 17 and I believe will start the construction of overpasses at "choke points" on highway 17, which should improve traffic flow into the city quite drastically in the next few years. Mt. Pleasant anticipated the future congestion of it's roads a number of years ago and has taken steps to address those problems already.

The maps misleading, at least the Summerville area is:
We live just North of that goose creek arrow in Summerville. Looking @ the map, it takes me 20/30 minutes to Linconville, however, the map shows that Summerville is NW from Linconville. Thinking that someone new to the area could get real
The boundries and the size alone of Summerville is confusing!
It is true that Summerville covers a large area. My arrow points to the Summerville label on a google map and is meant to show the general location of the towns and attractions..

Yes, I am aware that this is an old thread.
I'm guessing you don't live in the city limits of Summerville. It is one thing to live in the town limits. It is another to have a Summerville "address".
I am thinking of moving to Summerville and would like a small home or double wide with med. yard size and safe area. Are there alot of mobile homes there?
