We're vacationing on the Isle of Palms in a couple of weeks and just curious as to reccommendations for restaurants and things to do/places to visit directly on the Isle of Palms. We've visited Charlseton several times, but this is the first staying on the IOP.

If you like Pizza, check out "Luke and Ollies" on Ocean Boulevard. I ate there the other day and it was very good!
The beer is good and cold too....................

Coconut Joe's for a casual beachfront atmosphere--live music etc.
Boathouse for a nicer restaurant with great food. Also if you venture down the road to Sullivans Island -- Poe's is a must for an incredible burger, beer, etc. If you venture to Mt. Pleasant off the Isle of Palms connector is Gilligan's great family friendly seafood restaurant. Also in Mt. Pleasant is Red's a great bar on Shem creek --can occasionally see dolphins go bye.

I had one of the best filets I've had in a while at the Boathouse. Anyone else? With all of the restaurants we have in Chucktown, I wouldn't have pinned this place for a great steak. Don't know if it was just circumstance but it was really good. It was comparable to 225 (no offense Demetre!).

I was just about to chime in for Morgan Creek Grill. Try to go later in the evening when you get a breeze...eat outside on the water and watch for dolphins...we saw three last time we were there.
IOP is my personal favorite. Hope y'all have a great time.

Really loved eating at The Boathouse (it was pricey though, but I have generous in-laws!) Don't know if this is your kind of thing, but the fried scallops I had there were INCREDIBLE. My DH had the shrimp, which I usually prefer, but the scallops were superior to the shrimp.

Have fun!

OK, here's our list of visited and personal review.
Morgan Creek Grill - Outstanding, best of the bunch
Coconut Joe's - Food not that great, good time listening to live band
Luke and Ollies - Awesome atmosphere, love sitting outside with beer & pizza, Pizza quite tastey
Banana Cabana - OK, not that impressive
Boathouse - Very very good.

Thanks for all the reccomendations, as we were able to stay on the Island all week!
Great trip, love the IOP!

Amen to that. Not to mention they served us raw chicken. I don't mean under cooked...I mean raw...like thrown on the grill for 30 seconds a side raw. Completely unacceptable.
