Hey everyone! I'm new to the forum and have read the individual posts. i thought this might be a cool place to connect to those who might be able to give me insight on several ventures I am beginning to work on. I am looking to purchase my first home within the next two years. My credit is not so good and I want to apply for grants that can assist me in down payment and closing costs. I'm at the beginning stages of my exploration and I need some helpful advice on what to do and what areas in Charleston could be beneficial for me as a single professional on a teacher's salary. Any suggestions?

A lot is going to depend on how much you can afford and what ammenities you are looking for....

I know what a teacher makes and it isn't much but there are great programs that help teachers buy a home......

Good luck and let us know what you are looking for, there are a plethora of realtors on this site that can help you as well.....

Most loan officers would have fantastic access to state and government grants that would be available to you. Being 2 years out will certainly give you plenty of time to get everything in order as well. I'll send you a direct message with a few reputable local lenders that should be able to help you locate grant money and get everything started.
