The local theater has a new advertising banner showing the new shows coming for the next several months. One of them caught my eye. "Hello Dolly" staring Sally Struthers. OK, several years ago a "Grease" musical play came to town advertised as staring Cindy Williams and Eddie Mekka (from Laverne & Shirley). My mom and dad went to the show and was disappointed. They said that Cindy and Eddie played members of the school faculty (minor parts in the play), but they kept bringing up things from Laverne & Shirley, things obviously not part of the original play. I think this "Hello Dolly" may be another case of a former TV star being used to bring former fans to the play to see how she works when she'll actually be a lesser part in the play.

Have any of you ever come across such cases?

I saw "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" with Ann Margeret as the madame and "Some Like It Hot" with Tony Curtis playing the rich old millionaire a few years ago. Ann Margeret was great. Tony Curtis was awful.
