One of my cats has very thick coat but loose a lot of hair compare to my other cats; he is older and have a thicker coat compare to them too. He always runs into the fridge and sit there.

Any idea if he's just loosing more hair because he's missing nutrient or is it simply because he has too much fur?

It is normal for all cats to lose fur. And yes, the fluffier the cat, the fluffier the fur loss. Can you comb or brush out some of the loose hair. I've done this for some of the cats I've had that needed it.

Even though it will start to get cooler in the next few weeks, a lot of cats are still in summer shedding mode.

I'm betting his coat is just thicker.....try using a Zoom Groom or a rake like comb on him. I have one, part Maine Coon/Persian and his coat is so thick, your hand disappears into it! I rake him and what comes out is totally unbelievable! Looks like a whole other cat! And he needs to be combed at least every other day or the mats start showing up.

Try The Furminator . This is a comb, not a hair cutter that positively works . It is some invention ! It is amazing what is just loose on my Maine Coon cat's coat. All waiting to fall off on a just polished floor. .

Are you sure that your cat sits inside the refrigerator?

And then there is the light cat, dark cat phenomenon. If you are wearing something light colored, the dark colored cats(s) will sit on you. If you are wearing something dark, the light colored cats will sit on you.

I swear there is a secret cat hair muscle that they flex to release the hairs.

Becareful with the Furminator. It will do well on some cats with the heavier coats, but tends to "rip" the lighter coats. One can also go overboard with it...as hair just keeps coming out!

Well, Gracie is a Maine Coon and has tons of hair. Where does it all come from, I wonder. I know that this product does not actually cut any of it, but boy, is there ever a lot of superfluous hair on that cat.

LOL...Isn't it amazing what comes out? Our 1/2 Maine Coon/1/2 Persian is unbelievable! His name is Simon, but I swear, I'll be changing his name to Dyson soon...I'm forever vac. up after him!
