My local news station has partnered with area animal shelters to shine a spotlight on adoptable pets who are being fostered by very wonderful families. There is a Pet Cam link on their website. I'm a regular viewer, of course!
Right now there are 3 kittens ready for adoption. I have been watching them since the day they were born. All 3 kittens have feline cerebellar hypoplasia, or wobbly cat syndrome, which is a neurological disorder that occurs when a cat's brain does not develop properly in the womb. Sometimes due to malnutrition. If you saw the mom right after birth there was no doubt she was malnourished.
(Quick Rant: Spay and neuter your pets people!!)
Kittens with this syndrome can be hard to place because depending on their range of mobility it is likely they will have litter box accidents. That can be manageable for those with non-carpeted floors but carpeted rooms are the best for these little sweeties.
If you have some to spare please send mojo, thoughts, prayers, whatever you've got, to not just these 3 special babies but all the other cats and dogs that need a little extra TLC.
