Has anyone tried buying flea medication online? It costs $87 for a 6 month supply at my vet, and $81 through PetMeds.com. There are some sites that claim they sell a 6 month supply for $27. Is that too good to be true? Are they just selling fake medicine? Has anyone tried this?
I know some don't agree, but I know many people (including us) that purchase these treatments from over-seas. The same company makes the product and we have never experienced any issues with quality or delivery. The following link is for a company in Australia: http://www.petproductsontheweb.com

i do i compare the price healthy pets.com or mostly dr foster where i get the heartworm meds. i have been very happy with both, but do use dr foster alot. 27.00 seems hard to buy!
I have been ordering from PetsuppliesNet.Com for years. I have always been happy with the price and the product. As this company is not based in the US it does take about 10-14 days to receive an order.
When I said the same company makes the product...I meant the same company that makes Frontline Plus here in the US is the same company that puts out the product we purchase from the distributor in Australia.

I have bought the Aussie version online. No complaints. Same mfgr, same vials, slightly different exterior packaging (but still recognizable as Frontline). I got it for about 1/4 the price as what the vet charges. Sheesh! What a MARKUP we get here in the good old US of A!!!
I would highly recommend buying online from a reputable source.
I purchased from an Australian company for my dog and cat. They sent puppy Frontline for the cat, so I had to return it. They promised to credit me for the cost to mail the product back to Australia, but they never did, so I saved nothing.
Also, the product that I did get did not work on my pets for more than two weeks- but I have read that this can happen- where the fleas build up an immunity, so that may not have been the Australian company's fault.
I use petsupplies.net too for my dogs/cats. I bought the 'largest' size and then put 1/2 on each dog. It has worked great for my pets. I just saw my first flea this month after winter, so I am lucky I don't have to use it all year.
I have also read that in some cases it does quit working.
Last year I bought Frontline Plus from CanadaVet.com. They were cheaper then the other websites mentioned. I didn't check Australia yet.
I've been using this company as well and never had a problem. Much cheaper than pet meds... however, I couldn't get the heartworm pills for my dog at canadavet.com and petmeds matched their prices..
