Once you start giving them junk food it's hard to get them off it. Imagine being fed a diet of ice cream, only to be told that from now on you'll only be getting broccoli.

I hear you -- but -- any suggestions on how to wean her off the bad and get her to eat the good ?
Mixing it may not work, she probably wouldn't eat any of it with the 'good' in there. I'll try that maybe.
True. However, I don't like it that she is eating junky food. She had been in at least 2 shelters, maybe 3 in her little life, so I'm particularly fussy about her food and health. I suppose it will take more time. She has blossomed so beautifully in her forever home. The vet thinks she is going on 3 yrs. young; and seems to be very healthy and so sweet. I adopted her about 8 mos. ago. (I need to post a picture of her since I have a new high tech smart phone -- haha, I'm on the learning curve learning something new about it every day.)
Keep at the food; you'll find one eventually. Probably one she turned her nose up at the first time. (never forget that this is a cat you're dealing with)
I want to reiterate my magical trick to making cats eat wet food that they are trying to be fussy about.
Get Instinct RawBoost Mixers. I get the rabbit kind. When the cat gives you that look, that "you call this food? Nope. Not eating it. Try again." look... Get a couple pellets of this, it's mostly freeze dried raw meat and my cat thinks it's like straight up crack he loves it so much, and crumble it between your fingers and sprinkle the crumbles and dust over the wet food. It only takes a couple.
Now you might be tempted to add water. I don't recommend that. It's an odd property of these freeze dried raw treats, I don't think they are meant to be hydrated before consumption. I tried that and it make Nimbus puke. He is not normally a pukey cat. So no extra water... But this does get him to eat the food. Every time. Even just sprinkled on top, it gets him eating and he'll usually finish the bowl.
