Have an outdoor cat house for warmth but needs a battery operated pad to put inside the outdoor cat house, as can't use elect. The self body heating (w/out a battery or elect) aren't really too usable or effective are they? Ok, thanks all.

Looked on Chewy website, they have electric, self warming, and a few you can put an inner pad in the microwave then place it in a cover for pet bed.

Seems like they'd make a battery powered but I didn't see one.

1. Is the cat's house completely outside or in a garage or carport?

We plug our diesel tractor in during the cold months and have duct taped a size small dog bed onto the hood. The warmth comes thru the hood into the dog bed.

If the house is completely out in the weather, I might consider buying a bigger house and lining all the way around (on the inside) with thick towels, then either fill it with cedar shavings or put a fluffy dog bed inside the house that would allow the cat to burrow a little bit.

Outside cats like to burrow. -- we leave holes between the hay bales in the barn for this same cat and any other cat passing thru that might need some warmth

Chewy's had several "burrowing" fabric beds you can purchase...

I too was told cedar shavings or straw for lining a cat bed/house outside.

TY to you both so far. I'll look into some of these ideas. It is an outdoor house away from our property.

That needs to be in the Guinness Book of World Records for the most expensive heated pet bed on the planet.

Seriously, I applaud your creativity. Awesome idea.
