I was sick yesterday; had chills, fever, achiness, couldn't get out of bed etc. And Cooper and Fritz didn't leave my side. They literally laid on my neck and chest all day. And even though they normally don't lay near each other without starting a play-fest, they did yesterday. I always knew that cats sense when you need comforting, and this time they were so in tune with me. They knew I needed them. It makes me realize how lucky I am to have my Cooper and my Fritz. And how I love them. I feel bad for people who are sick or upset about something and don't have a cat or two to snuggle with for comfort. I'm sure it's just psychosomatic because I still have symptoms, but I really do feel better today.

I just wanted to post this to say how much I appreciate my cats and how amazing they are. Perhaps you all have stories about how your kitties just knew they were needed and made everything better too...

Your story does not surprise me and oh how wonderful for you to find out how comforting and compassionate our furrangels are, especially when we are not feeling well. They are truly amazing, aren't they? Absolutely amazing!

Hope you are feeling better today! (((HUGS)))

It was so sweet of them!

Thanks Garden! I am feeling better. It's not the first time they've stayed close because they sense something is not right. But Cooper hasn't been sleeping with us at night since Fritz joined the family and I think that's what was nice about them both laying there with me. Fritz is such a kitten, he always wants to play so usually when Cooper wants to relax he finds a high spot in the closet where Fritz can't jump. It's so great that they were finally able to nap together.

I wish I could rep you all but I have to spread it around!

What a glorious feeling when our babies finally put their differences aside and become "friends". Very cool!

When a family member was diagnosed with terminal cancer, my cat served as my living breathing handkerchief. I held him and cried until he was soaked. And it took a lot of tears to soak such a big cat. He was never cuddly at any other time in his 18 years - but he was there for me while I came to terms with the loss.

Cats are truly amazing!

Cats are truly amazing. I had always classed myself as a doggy person, however I took a stray BSH in. A couple of years later I contracted chicken pox, before it was diagnosed I was extremely ill and Panny seemed to know - he cuddled into me and stayed with me all night. I can't explain it but I was so glad he was there.

They say a cat's purr/vibration is healing. Years ago my dad was ill in bed and his kitty Mitzy (Mit Mit) stayed curled up with him, purring to high heaven. Yes, cats are amazing and amazingly underrated.
