Hi all

How easy (and costly) is it to add a friend to my existing car insurance, just for 7 days?

I have a friend coming from the UK to stay for a week and we want to share the driving on a road trip around Texas.

Or would it be better/cheaper/less risky to rent a car and both drive that?

thanks!!

Call your insurance agent.

Your friend (assuming valid license etc.) may be covered while driving your car....I suspect this is the case and nothing more needs to me done.

Just give your agent a call and he will gladly give you all the details relevant to your existing insurance. Many policies already cover authorized drivers even they are not listed on the policy. Your agent can tell you for sure.
