So many have gotten out of line in what they want money-wise.

Opinions?

I wouldn't look at price so much, more or less would you have a local agent you can go to for any issues. Brands like Allstate, State Farm are the local agent types and brands like Esurance and Geico are more online types of insurance. Do you have a record that has any at fault accidents?

USAA has treated us very well, and way better price wise than most of the competition.

there is a reason my family has been continuously insured by state farm since 1962, they are the best imo.

Geico for us. No issues with a hail claim. I saved $800 a year by switching from Allstate 4 years ago.

it's pretty easy to get quotes these days, note your location could affect your rates compared to others on this forum. One company we had for years in WI (American Family), couldnt even cover us when we moved to SC, and the "national" company that gave us the best rate while in WI was not the best amongst the same competitors once we got down here.
We also bundle our insurances, cars/boat/homeowners/umbrella all together to pull extra discounts. We currently use Travelers thru AAA, and had great luck with Am Fam when we had them.

When quoting, just make sure all the coverages/deductibles are the same so you can compare true pricing and services

A lot has to do with where you live.
The consistently highest-rated car insurance company in the Consumer Reports ratings is New Jersey Manufacturers Ins. Co.

However, there are a couple of hoops that you have to jump through in order to get a policy from them.
First, you have to live in either NJ or PA.
And, even if you are a resident of those states, you also have to be employed by a company that is a member of the NJ Business & Industry Association.

If you can clear those hurdles, you can apply for a policy with the company that has the best claims-paying record, the best customer service, and rates that are lower than most of their competitors. Then, after the first full year of coverage, you are in line for an annual rebate check from them, to the tune of...usually ~$80, thus making the cost even lower.

I agree.
I know people who have all kinds of insurance, and I never have to deal with the b.s. they have to.
It's all about superior customer service for me.
If that costs a bit more, whatever.
I don't want to be dicking around getting reports or trying to figure this or that out or submitting forms. I call these people, tell them what happened, and then I don't do jack crap. That's their job. I don't wait, I don't fight, I don't do anything. They do.

Country Companies for me (20+ yrs), they cover a WIDE variety and are about 1/2 my State Farm rates (which I had for 25+yrs till they got VERY unflexible, and I had to get supplimental policies from various carriers).

It does REALLY depend on local agent and how they treat / stand up for you. I quote 3-5 companies every yr. (I have 20+ vehicles / businesses insured)
