I know its a long shot but me and my parents are looking to move in a year or two, they really like New Mexico and some of AZ. But I was wondering if there is any affording places to live in CA, with things to do for a 20 year old. And not in a Crazy busy area where it takes 1 hour + to commute to work. I know this is a very vague question but any suggestions would be appreciated. THANKS!

Inland, away from cities over 100,000, not in the San Joaquin Valley, not in the Tahoe area, near smaller cities and towns.

What about jobs? Who is working where?
Are you planning on living with them? For how long?

Besides the questions already asked,
What are your parents likes? Do they want close access to hike, fish, mountains, beaches, etc.
What are things you like to do at 20? Like concerts, hiking, kayaking, nightlife, etc. That varies for everyone also.
Do you expect $325,000 to be enough for a 1,000 sq ft house or for a 3,000 sq ft house?

Some areas in the Central Valley or other parts of California will possibly meet your needs but you need to give us a little more help.

Paradise or Chico CA. Chico is a university town and has tons of things for 20 year olds to do. Paradise is a little mountain town about 20 min up the ridge from Chico and a delightful place to live. You can go to realtor.com and see some of the homes in Paradise, 95969 or Magalia 95954. Chico is about and hour north of Sacramento

One of my brothers still lives in Prunedale. It has forest areas. Not far from Monterey/Moss Landing & beach areas. My Bro loves it there.

I don't know how far 325k will get you now.

Best of Luck to you Bro.
