I might possibly be moving to the Santa Cruz area soon. We will be renting for awhile to see if we like the area but I am having a hard time finding rentals online. There are only a few that I can see. Does anyone know of a good web site for any and all rentals within a 20 mile range of Santa Cruz? I know rent will be less the further east I go!!! Any help would be great!!!!

Lots of scams on craigslist for this area. Just beware. If you have a pet, your search will be ten times as difficult. The prices are astronomical for much of SC, Aptos, Soquel, and Capitola. You just have to see what $1200 will get you in this area. Bring along a can of Raid, just to be on the safe side.

Okay this does not sound good!!! Is the area that bad>> I have not been to this area in about 25 years so I don't remember much. How about further up the mountains perhaps Felton? A 20 minute commute out of Santa Cruz would be fine.
Thank you

The area isn't bad (OK, parts of Santa Cruz are), it's just that Nigerian scammers happen to like using craigslist in this area for their scams.
You'll learn a lot by reading craigslist complaints in the apt/housing section, and also a lot when you start looking at what's available and for what price.
