I guess that works for those who are retired and don't want to deal with any of the issues associated with a multi-cultural, diverse environment. Not so much if you are a working professional, or aren't a far right white person.

You can keep guessing or you can visit Idaho and see what it’s really like here. You might even like it. You won’t even have to wear a mask

I've been there before. As I've mentioned, I think the scenery is beautiful in that area and it's great for outdoors. On the other hand, living there and all of the far right dogma is a different story.

God help Ca if he survives this recall.
Because a plurality of recall supporters decided to throw their support behind Elder which is a mistake IMO. Even if Newsom does get thrown out, Elder will not be re-elected next year. Of course Newsom is going to go after him, he’s the leading candidate and a much easier target. Why would they go after someone that isn’t in the lead? Why give Elder that chance when he doesn’t even need to really? Newsom just needs to beat the yes or no question.

I think think the main goal should be to get Newsom out. Anybody would be better then him. Let the next election figure out the future of Ca. Who knows maybe Elder or Paffrath would do a good job in the interim

I completely agree, I’m ok if Elder ends up being governor as long as Newsom is out. I just think with Elder as the leading candidate it actually helps Newsom versus a moderate like Faulconer. CA Republican Party could have endorsed Faulconer and give him some traction but his campaign never really got off the ground and attracted much attention. Everything is focused on the Elder/Cox/Jenner theatrics.

I disagree that anybody would be better than Newsom. If you get some far right lunatic who doesn't support COVID protocols, follows an evangelical agenda (as we're seeing in Texas), this would be an absolute disaster for our state.

I can see where you live that is probably the reality that Elder is too conservative but in most other areas of Ca Elder is saying what a lot of people want to hear. The LA Times isn’t blasting Elder with everything they can come up with even calling him a black white supremest for nothing. The liberals are truly scared of him.

As Trump would say don’t rely too much on polls

How is Elder appealing to what most people in CA want to hear? Last time I checked, LA county (and all others in the LA metro) went for Biden, including the former Republican stronghold of OC.

Maybe a sizeable minority of people in CA like his message, but he clearly doesn't speak to the majority of Californians, unless you're in some rural county nowadays.
