My husband's car broke down on his way to work Friday, on the 5 freeway in Santa Ana. He's a mechanic and knew what the problem was, but he had to call the Auto Club to give him a tow to his shop.

The driver showed up, loaded the car, and then told my husband that due to Covid restrictions, he was not allowed to give him a ride in the cab.

My husband said, You're going to leave me standing here on the freeway?

Driver replied, No, I can give you a 'courtesy lift' to the next exit and you can get out on the street there.

Husband: And then...?

Driver: You can call an Uber.

Husband: So it's OK for an Uber driver to give me a ride to my shop but you can't give me a ride to my shop?

Driver: I don't make the rules. Ya know, Covid...

Husband: OK, you go ahead and take my car to my shop, but there is no one there so you're going to have to wait around for me to get there in my Uber.

Driver: ...Oh, what the heck, go ahead and get in.

I have game cams out in the middle of nowhere. I have a pic of a woman wearing a disposable mask in one. No one else around.

This ALSO cracks me up. And begs the question: was she wearing anything else? Or just a mask?

This gave me a mental image of someone wearing a mask...on a place where masks are not normally worn.

Not if "out in the middle of nowhere" is anywhere in Europe.
