Democrats are against cigarett smoking and have been for years yet pot smoking is just fine. Sick sick people!
Because so called medical marajuana laws aren't enforced at all we have recreational marajuans smoking now. Making it legal won't be any big accomplishment.

Do you understand the difference between weed and tobacco? Herb medicine growers/sellers and Big Tobacco?

You're referencing the ol' Partnership, huh? Shall we bring in the Heritage Foundation, or Glenn Beck for this as well?

You paid by RJ Reynolds? About how many times do these characters need to be brought before congressional committees and fined up down and sideways for gleefully LYING about how toxic, addictive, and deadly their product is? How many people have died from cannabis?

Good timing for bringing this thread back to life. Isn't the 2016 Marijuana Legalization Initiative on track for showing up on the ballot?

Are there any strings attached to this new proposal? Like what was proposed in Ohio or something, where there would be a limited number of officially sanctioned producers allowed given an oligopoly over their market.

That remains to be seen.

Not at all. Maybe for a high schooler but a 30 year old doesn't smoke to be "cool".

How about avoiding the ad hominem attacks and deal with the facts.

Not doing so shows you can't.

The first one is not the only one. The next three out of a LOT of medical links are:

Medline Plus
Science Daily
Web MD

I'm sorry. But these are not facts. They are government backed studies that should be taken with a grain of salt, as they are fabricated studies that skew facts to push the federal anti-pot agenda.

Just to show you how easy it is to play for the other side:

http://www.safeaccessnow.org/cannabis_safety

"Since the IOM report, research on the long-term effects of smoking cannabis that studied thousands of users over decades has shown that smoking moderate amounts of cannabis (equivalent to a joint a day) has no negative effects on lung function, even in those who have consumed more than 10,000 joints."

Not to mention that even though smoking is the preferred method by many, there are other ways to ingest it, such as edibles, which completely negate any sort of negative effect of smoking. I don't see anyone making tobacco brownies.

The problem with this issue is that up until very recently, there have been few major federal studies done on its effects that didn't hold an anti-marijuana bias.
