Hey there guys, Ive been a lurker of this forum for a while anyway I have a little dilemma that maybe a few of you guys can chime in on. To start off, I am graduating from CSU Fresno in May with a degree in Business Administration with a focus in Computer Information Systems. I have several years of work experience here working for various companies and the most recent being for a medical group supporting an EHR system and doing system administration. Now, I know the Bay area is a hot market for the IT field which I understand, but the rent prices are very high and very competitive. Now my girlfriend would be moving with me, so I was wanting to get some feedback, should I just focus my job search in the Bay Area, or should I stick with the slightly more affordable Orange County? There's things I like/dislike about both areas so it is kind of a wash for me between the 2.

I would say that most of OC and LA is pretty close in living expense cost to the Bay Area.

Search in both places. You never know what you will find and what may appeal. Good luck.

Ya I have been searching in both markets but i am kinda in a tough position because i cant really start the new position till I graduate which is May 18th. I was curious to see if there is a significant gap in pay between the OC and the Bay in regards to pay for the same kind of position, because i know I will need to hit the 3x rent income requirement just to get approved for a place.
