I might be moving to Morro Bay in the next few years. How much is a 2 bed 2 bath house in M.B.? Preferbly a new home (2000-present).

It would be a rare thing to find a newer home in Morro Bay. Most will be over 30 years old.

Hi.

There is really only one development in Morro Bay with houses even close to that new, it's called "the Cloisters." What you describe would be at the least 600k. Most of the homes are built in the 60s or 70s. The prices are slightly better than they used to be, but you're still looking at $400k or more for the most basic place. Visit the Central Coast MLS search to get more info on specifics.

If you'd like to be near the beach, within 30 minutes drive, but want a better home, I suggest Templeton. They are hotter in the summer, but have a wonderful little downtown and best farmer's market in the County. It's a straight shot to the beach from there, through Highway 46.

I know nothing about Morro Bay except I drive past it to get to Hearst Castle, but any beach community with a landmark of that significance (how many volcanoes does California have?), I can guesstimate would be at least half a million for a condo, let alone a house.

Ah, as I was writing this I saw trixie09's comment. Looks like my guess was about right - it's a beach town *shrug* you pay for the exclusivity. My question is...where do you work?

There are quite a few new condos in Morro Bay that you may be interested in featuring 2bed/2bath and newer construction. If you want I can email you some listings that you might be interested in and it will give you a chance to see what things are going for in Morro Bay.
