I haven't seen it yet, but I've never heard anyone describe that area as ugly. I'll be visiting next week though!

As with most any large area, Chittenden County ranges from beautiful to neutral to ugly, and the population is diverse for Vermont. Near Burlington (and spreading all the time) are suburban housing developments and strip malls, which I dislike. Still, there are the lake, beautiful parks, farms, and natural settings to be found surprisingly close to the city. Chittenden is the most populated county in the state. Still, compared with "populated" in most other states, it's still pretty small.

Exactly Sheryl - not all of Chittenden Cty is "ugly". Sure Williston, SB, Essex & Colchester have their fair share of suburban sprawl...but Bolton? Huntington? parts of Hinesburg? Charlotte? Most of Shelburne?
Beautiful IMO.
