Just moved to the area and still getting acquainted with things. I'm enjoying the eateries. Where can I find a good bakery? And, what are some of the best places to eat? Maybe your favorite places to eat? Thank you!

My favorite bakery is actually Wegmans. I have tried lots of others, and theirs is consistently the best. Also try Wolters bakery, it isn't bad.

Thank you for the info! I've been here less than a week and so far, so good. Thank you Buffalo for the friendly people!

Renee's on Transit Rd in Depew ( south of genesee and north of French Rd which extends from George Urban). Great Bread and pastries and cakes to die for ( you order them ahead)

Russ' Bakery. One the expensive side but the cookies are worth it if you did not marry into an italian family. Wegman's and Top's bread is okay as a start. Costanza's better.

Another site for rankings is UrbanSpoon.com. I found the ratings to be pretty accurate.

When we lived in Buffalo we liked Kabab and Curry, Neon Thai, and Cafe Aroma. There is a good Mexican La Totelca.

Thank you for your advice. We have young kids, so will likely do much take out. We happily found Wasabi on Elmwood...yummy! I've only been here a week and have eaten there 4 times. We need to try some other places, but this place was delicious.

As far as a bakery, for rolls I like Costanzos.
But who's going to go out of their way just to pick up some rolls?

Canerican mentioned Wegmans, which is a good place to buy subs.

If you're a glutton, there's a place called Pizza Junction on Nash Road which is off Niagara Falls Boulevard where they serve enormous portions of food.

For roast beef , Charlie the Butcher is the best.
