I live in Back Bay and can't afford to park my car in the neighborhood. I only need my car for weekend trips out of Boston. Is there a good parking garage near the green line that I could use as a "commuter lot"? I would need to park there long-term.

Thanks!

I don't know of any, but how often will you be traveling out of town? You may want to consider a zipcar membership (I think you can take the cars out of town) or just renting a car from a Hertz, etc. Most of the big car rental companies have locations in Back Bay. It's more expensive than renting from the airport, but once you factor in the cost of car registration, insurance and parking fees, renting may be more economical.

There's a few parking garages in Fenway (Landmark Center and in or around those new buildings that went up). It will probably cost you $250+ a month though.

I park under Trilogy in Fenway for $225/mo, there are some outdoor spots in various Fenway locations for $200 as well. The other thing you could do is just get a free permit from the city and park on the street, not ideal in the winter and you need to keep track of street cleaning but its free.
