Her story is interesting. She was a volunteer at a suicide prevention hotline. She met a real nice guy there, who had a unique hobby; torture murdering young women. Ted Bundy.

Her book about it, "The Stranger Beside Me", was all about him, and her evolving attitude about his guilt. She finally had to accept the overwhelming evidence - he did it.

That guy was some piece of work. I'm not a big fan of the death penalty, but in his case, I'm all in favor of it. Guy was like a rabid dog.

The most recent book I've read and that I thought was great was "Heart Shaped Box" by Joe Hill (Stephen King's son). It's scary right from the start. I honestly couldn't put it down. Great read if you like spooky stories!

Really! He's featured in yesterday's New York Times Magazine section. Looks like his dad.

I agree... I recently read a fairly old compilation of her short stories I bought for a quarter... and was very impressed. Short stories are hard to write yet I found hers extremely insightful but entertaining as well. I believe the book was called "Short Line".

I haven't heard of Short Line" I'll have to look for it...I like how her books are not gushy, over the top romantic...Just an insightful look into other people's lives. Of course the settings are great!

Shadow lynn Parker
as well as some of the older authors like
King or Poe.

Some Authors I like and have read recently are-
Nora Roberts/ JD Robb - read all of the available titles
Anne Rice-read all of her books
John Saul- read a few here and there
Danielle Steele- read a few here and there
JK Rowling-read all of her books

I am looking for some ideas on authors I have not read. I enjoy a good book that keeps me glued beginning to end. I do not mind love stories as long as they are not too sappy. I love suspense and mystery. I do not mind science fiction or fantasy. I am really looking forward to getting some ideas from you all. Thanks in advance for all of your input! Happy reading!
