I'm in a book club and our current book is 11/22/63. Great book so far, highly recommend it if you haven't read it yet.

We meet once a month, and I was thinking of suggesting a holiday book for next month since after all it is December.

Any suggestions at all? It's always nice to hear from other CD users what books they like!

Thank you!!

I don't know what kind of books you all prefer. But "the walk" is a 5 book series and is wonderful. I actually just made a thread on it.

the Angel Doll by Jerry Bledsoe
easy read-I try to buy a Christmas book every year and then read them all around Christmas. I read this one so often, I gave it away. Bought another copy-loaned it to a friend who wanted it so much she wanted to buy one for herself-another copy gone. Bought another one. This one is mine! I'm keeping it!!

But I do recommend it!

I just downloaded Tinsel: A Search For America's Christmas Present and it looks interesting as well as humorous. Won't get around to reading it for a bit, but I am looking forward to it.

This might not work out in a book club, but for personal reading you might like to read some of the stories from David Sedaris' Holidays on Ice; a few of them are hilarious.

You could check out the books tagged "Christmas" on Goodreads. That link also has lists at the bottom for things like "holidays", "Christmas spirit", "Christian Christmas", etc.

Hope you find something good .

David Sedaris is IMO one of the funniest, sweetest and strangest essayists in the US (well, he lives in the UK now, but still.) I loved Holidays on Ice.

I'm a big SK fan but couldn't love 11/22/63. I won't spoiler anything but I HATED the ending of that book.

Red Bird christmas by fannie flagg ..One of my fave christmas books and was one of my daughters faves as well . she loves to read and has even when she was little . Everywhere I took her everyone remarked that they wished they could make their kids sit down and read a book . I think she did it herself cause she hated tv .But Red Bird Christmas was fabulous .
