Who are the main players in and around Boise? Please NO CHARTER!

Right now, in AL we have Charter Cable and an AT&T DSL line for internet. Love the DSL line but Charter....not so much.

CableOne is the main cable provider and CenturyLink (formerly Qwest) is the main DSL provider. I really like CableOne (best cable company I've ever had) but haven't used the others much.

There are also lots of past threads on this topic...

I think it depends on what part of town you're in. I had CableOne and it was TERRIBLE. It was down more than often than not. I had always used Comcast cable and loved it, but this was very different for me. A lot of people also say CableOne is great without many outtages.

CenturyLink DSL was absolutely AWESOME and never had a minute down.

Clear was good, but a bit slow depending on signal stregnth. Very reliable, though.

I just moved here a few months ago and chose centurylink for internet and Directv for television.

So far I have to say I am extremely impressed with Centurylink. I got a great deal, about $40 a month and the speed is very fast, fast enough for streaming movies and tv shows. Also I haven't had any problems with it (knock on wood). When I had Comcast I had to reset my router every day!

Directv is fantastic. I love their selection of channels and the picture can't be beat. They're a little pricey, but there were some channels I couldn't live without so I chose them vs. the cable company.
btw, if u decide to go with directv, message me so I can give you my acct #, you can tell them I referred you and I get $10 off my bill each month

Hope you enjoy Boise as much as I'm enjoying it!

Just chatted (online) with someone at CenturyLink. Their offerings seem good (for both Internet and phone), though the guy was a little pushy. He kept trying to sell me on a "leftover" black Friday offer if I agreed then and there. Not my style, though I imagine I will be going with them (if I do, I'll report back on my experience).

I really would prefer DSL from CenturyLink. But, the website indicates that they can only provide 1.5Mbps in Eagle. Ouch! Compared to CableOne at 50Mbps, it's a non-starter. Haven't talked to anybody from the company just yet to verify that's really correct for Eagle. I don't like that they don't publish a phone number on their site. They have a button to push to "call" them, but it doesn't do anything from my computer (well, at least it doesn't appear to be doing anything).

Does anybody in Eagle use DSL? If so, what kind of speed are you getting?
