When I lived there, my little '72 2002 Tii would do 200 KPH back and forth to work everyday. That was in the early '80s with no forced induction, no overdrive and a 10+ year old car.
I believe it. We just filmed a classic BMW 3.0 CSL going 200 kph - and this is now a 45-year-old car!
We caught the new BMW X6 (G06) as a test mule on the Autobahn. Does anyone know why it is still driving around camouflaged? I thought it came our last year. What are they still testing?
I've seen 140+ on US interstates. I ran with an M5 deep into the 125 range and he lifted, I didn't and saw 140 as I went by. New cars are ridiculously fast today. Newest M3 is 425 HP, twin turbo and simply pulls hard to 60, to 100, to 125 and beyond. Newest M5 is 600 HP.
Ran a '92 Maxima at 125MPH in Dallas (I was in college). Wouldn't do it again.
So the unrestricted parts are still unrestricted at night?
Yes - there is no general speed limit at night. Electronic signs may change based on driving conditions, but night time is often the best to test the top speed of a car, as there is less traffic,
