Will a new car dealer buy a vehicle with a salvage title? Someone told me once the vehicle has been wrecked a used or new dealer will not buy or even trade it.
A car with a salvage title is junk, no way around that. If it is older, it could have been a minor repair, and the car is ok, but still worthless price wise. If it is newer, it had to be a MAJOR repair to become salvage. Yes, you are correct. There is no reason a new car wants to take in a car with a junk title.
Most new car dealers probably won't touch 'em because the salvage title makes 'em worth much less - and very difficult to get financed. Independent used car dealers and we-tote-the-note lots are more likely to take 'em.....
Some cars with salvage titles wouldn't have been totaled years ago. Problem now is that parts and repairs are so expensive that even relatively late model cars with only moderate damage get totaled....especially if the air bags have been popped...
Here is a dealer that sells vehicles that have been wrecked and can be repaired but I think the cost would be more to repair then just buy a vehicle that has never be wrecked.
Thairs a book price for.cars and trucks with salvage titles I've owned two with salvage titles the only thing is to know who done the repair work on it I own a 05 stradus and I love it so it's just people opinions and people will find folt with anything and some dealers will use as trade in because the state has to inspect it before you can get tags for it and good luck
The best thing to do is never buy a car with a salvage title unless you plan to drive it until it is worn out and you get your value out by driving it, You wont get any real money back if you sell it or trade it. Most dealers will take it as "trade" but they just play with the numbers and they in up not having any money in the car so they can wholesale it quick.New car dealers want to sell you a car and if making you think you are getting a real trade in reduction is required they will.
Most reputable dealers will not take a salvage title.
You'll find some independent dealers that will, and certainly some note lots, but your average Honda / Nissan / Ford / Chevy store will simply not take it.
It's far more trouble than it's worth.
