Call BS all you want. On several long trips include one I drove last February in the TC we averaged 28 MPG. Which is right on par with 4 others with the 4.6. I do not recall what the old TC with 302 made. Transportation company, they setup as limos or taxi's?

Brother just retired a 95 Crown Vic that would get 28 MPG on a trip too.

On the other hand my Olds Aurora the best I have made is 26 MPG. While my F150 2 wheeled drive I am able to get is 20 MPG. Now when I drive the living **** (urine) out of my pickup loaded and throttle buried my mileage drops.

town car they are nice with a good old 5.0EFI under the hood and a nice interior yet seemed more confortable and modren over the caddy brougham which looks like 1982 model with updated headlights and that it.

The 90 Towncar was redesigned but still had the 302 under the hood. In 91 the 4.6 was introduced.

I must of thought of the mustang when they put the 4.6 in it in 1996 on the GT's
I don't know much about full size 90's luxury cars

I am normally a Cadillac fan... especially of the 50s-70s models, and I really like the 93-96 Fleetwoods, but for some reason I have always had a soft spot for the 1990-97 Town Cars, especially the 90-94 models... other than the 1970-74 Continental/Town Cars, these are really the only ones I like.

Yeah, 1990 was the only year for the 5.0 in that body style. I always found it odd though that both the 1990 5.0L and the 1991 4.6L had the potential valve seal woes. By 1995, this seems to have went away though... they must have tweaked the engine as well, with the facelift of the body/interior.

On the folks 92 I do not remember any engine issues at all. They traded it in 2000 with 180K on the odometer. It was still a strong runner when they traded it in.

I have to say the Imperial. The interiors are huge! They're so comfortable, my grandpa used to have one and that thing was like a limo!

Thats great! Normally on these engines after so many miles, they start burning oil and smoking (especially if idling for a minute or so, then smokes when RPMs increase), because of faulty valve stem seals.
