Just visited the Chevrolet dealership for my promotional $9.95 oil change with 21 point inspection.

Viewed all 7 new cars in showroom.

Black in all interiors. Everything black in all cars.

What happened to tan?

Anyone reading here have a dog? How do you keep your nice black interior clean of dog hair?

Beyond that.

Used to be able to get a green interior, blue interior, white interior, tan interior and on and on.

I get it. Some DO like black. But does everyone?

Yes, it does save the manufacturers some money. But really, how much more would it cost to offer at least a tan interior?

Black seats, black dash, black carpet . . . the worstest to keep clean.

It's cheaper to make the cars with only two or three available colors, so they only make the most popular ones, and to hell with everyone else. It's even limited to certain outside/inside color combinations. Unless you're looking at high end, then you'll have more choices.

Most cars are packaged in interior/exterior colors. So you may only have a few options in the mix of interior or exterior colors.
You might be able to soecial order it if you wish to.

Personally black is a crap color IMO because where I live it gets hot. A black interior gets VERY hot in summer time

Dealers order what sells. I loathe tan interiors - black or grey for me. If you want a different interior, you can likely special order.

I just took inventory of our 3 and the 3 dinner guest cars in the driveway. There were 3 black, and 3 gray, a fairly light gray. I like a tan interior but only on certain car colors, like blue, bronze or brown. Since both of mine are red, black is appropriate. Nothing is worse than a red vinyl or leather interior.

The factory was overstocked with black so they push them on to the dealers. Sometimes it is interiors, sometimes it is paint colors, and sometimes it is accessory packages.

Black is cool, tan is not. There all black to be the most appealing to those who are in the showroom and still undecided.

Black isn't cool when you live in Florida. I brought a black on black car here when I relocated and it's too darn hot.

I was determined to get a lighter color interior for the other car I bought in September. I succeeded - scored tan leather seats. Carpet is still black along with parts of the dash but the big thing is the seats.
