Yes, it is hot if down South. But not as hot to the touch.
Also, on another note - black shows dirt and dust more easily.
I didn't say it wasn't hotter in a car with a black interior. But a grey interior is 130 degrees and a black is 140. The practical difference is zero when you get in.
Tan interiors are ugly. Black/gray is the way to go.
Yes, they will get hot in sunny states, if you don't tint the windows. In my last all black leather interior car everything you touched would be scalding on a hot sunny day, especially the aluminum topper shifter. But then I got a good ceramic window tint, including llumar's "air blue" on the windshield(high heat rejection but near transparent). After that it was not a problem at all.
For dog hair we use one of those hammocks that lines the whole area between front and back seats. Works great and any stray hairs are easily vacuumed up/wiped off the leather. Bigger issue is the nose/drool art on the window.
Vinyl seats? Would you like shag carpeting and a disco ball as well?
It's called bonded leather now. AND it is standard in some Porsche vehicles. So it ain't something cheap OR in the past.
I guess them Germans must all have shag carpets and listen to disco music today!
