OP have you looked at a lower trim 5.0 V-8 XL or XLT version with 4x4 instead of the FX2 pkg?
Hi, yes I have. I looked at some 4x4 XLTs on the internet. I just dont like the appearance as much. Especially the wheels. I know that sounds picky, but...

you could always buy FX2 style aftermarket wheels for the XLT 4x4 and save some $$$

I don't know about where you are but the Ford Dealers here (well most close to me are owned by one entity, they're just spread out) are really running some rebate programs on new trucks right now.
The one I bought a few weeks ago listed at $33.5 and I ended up paying $25K. You might wish to look for new, also. Chances are, as someone mentioned, they're going to cut even more this Spring to make room for the 2015 models.
You have to drive them both. They drive completely different than the other. The Ford drives much more like a car IMO, the engines feel much quicker to rev and the steering is laser tight. The Chevy, on the other hand, still has lots of that truck feel (very refined though). Accelerator is less touchy, brakes are less touchy, steering isn't dialed in so tight. It really comes down to preference between the two, both can be great vehicles.
I've driven both, and to be honest I liked the F150 a little better. Acceleration was good (the 3.5 ecoboost) and it was very comfortable to drive. Like mentioned above, the Silverado felt a little looser as far as braking and steering, etc.
Before you really screw up, I'd strongly suggest you research the EcoBust engine. Ford has a lot of them they have no clue how to fix. From spark plug issues, sticky waste gates, bad turbos, intercoolers making water, engines going into and staying in fail mode, bad driveshafts, and the latest bad head gaskets, you have to be nutz to buy one. The 2015 YM is the last year for the 3.5 in an F150. Next year will see a 2.7 EB along with a diesel that will replace the 3.5 EB in 2016. The 3.5 has been as much a fail as the 5.4 3 valve and that engine wears the distinction of the worst engine to ever be in a truck.

yeah I would go for the 5.0 or 6.2 N/A V-8 engine choices over the Ecoboost V-6 OP but that is just IMO

The Ecoboost intercooler issues were fixed in 2012, and is old news.
We traded in our Silverado on an F150 4x4...differences that we noticed: more room, better handling (turning radius and on the road behavior), prefer the dash and accessories in the Ford and hands down the biggest thing I love in this truck...the EcoBoost Turbo. The first 4 months with it I was just looking for an opportunity to put the pedal down. I have eased off on it now but...holy smokes that engine is nice. Yes you end up paying a bit more...could have got into a Silverado All Star for about $10k less but...you only live once.
