I took my car to be traded in. They pulled the VIN number and it said it was wrecked in 2005. I found the owner at that time who was separate from the person I bought it from. He said it was never wrecked then. what can I do to resolve this issue? thanks. you can also respond to bishop334@hotmail.com

perhaps contact carfax and ask them for the data they have showing it was "wrecked"? Either someone along the line isnt totally truthful on it or it was as simple as a data entry error and is easy to fix. That would be my suggestion anyhow.

Yeah I would contact carfax, but I am sure you will need some kind of proof which will be hard prove.

Something to consider. The owner at the time might not want to say it was in a wreck because he might not have told the person he sold the car to.

Yeah, ultimately all those accident reports are keyed in by someone. Carfax mines the Data, but doesn't perform an investigation. Pretty easy to misskey a digit. I would guess that the last owner lied to you, though.
