I don't see anyone beating that unless they somehow do it officially with police permission and escort or something. Which means, it ain't never happening.
I agree.. you would have to average well over 98mph or run well over 160 top speed. I think the average luxury sport sedan can handle 150 ish on our freeways.. 180 or more.. no way.
Maybe I should have a crack one day in the future. It seems fun. I would do it in an American car though. The CTS-V sedan or wagon comes to mind. Maybe a Charger SRT8 and that's a big maybe.
Charger is a good idea. Antennas, get some plainer wheels, no adornments, plain color. In other words, make it look more like a cop car.
But after reading the article, it looks like the real key is all the prep. Wouldn't want to do it in a real flashy sports car, but the CTS-V should be good. You need a place for extra gas tanks, which might mean the sedan is better than the wagon.
There are numerous threads about coming down on lawbreakers. People here complain about not getting out of the laft lane, but averaging 100 MPH across the country is OK?

Hard to imagine beating this one.
The Charger SRT8 doesn't have active suspension hence my maybe. That's a lot of extra weight for gas tanks. The CTS-V has magnetic suspension and a manual transmission. CTS-V is a prime candidate.

Last time I checked unlike left lane squatting. Averaging 100 mph across the country isn't a nationwide epidemic.
I'm indifferent to the illegality of it all personally (blow my doors off doing triple digits? Don't care.), but I AM surprised the participants are so willing to divulge their names and include all the stuff they did to elude the cops. You'd think that'd land someone a nice visit from the cops, at minimum.
LOL, It was only a matter of time before someone started crying about it.
No one is crying. Just pointing out the hypocrisy of some posters making an issue of all sorts of minor lawbreaking on the roads, but just accepting this as an occasional diversion.
I'm fine with it, personally. It's always fun until someone dies.

What exactly are the cops going to do? Give them a prize or trophy, not one of them saw them doing it....

Since when do the cops need to see a crime to arrest someone of it? So long as there is evidence, they have a case, and given all the GPS and tracking these guys used, it probably wouldn't be all that hard.
Just sayin'
