What happened to them? Now we have to take two cars when we want to go out with six total. I hate to buy a minivan or big suv just for the few times we have two couples over for a dinner out. Seems back in the day, we could squeeze 6 in for a few mile ride. Maybe safety regs have made a bench front seat a thing of the past?
It would require a bench front seat, and everything now has bucket seats with a center console.
Anybody remember the 1948 Davis 3-wheeler, which had no back seat, and claimed to seat four in the front seat? These guys look a little bit snug in there.

I would hate to give up the comfort of individual front seats for the few times we would like to put 3 in the front.
Anyone that needs to carry more than 5 bought an SUV, CUV, or van a long time ago. A few remain who don't want such a vehicle, but there aren't enough of them for an automaker to build a car for them.
I don't see how. It has front buckets. It has a rear bench, like every other car its size. And it has seat belts for 5. It's rear "shoulder room" is 55 inches, 1 1/2 inches less than a Honda Accord. You can't fit four in the rear unless the four are children. And of course they couldn't all be belted.

It actually seats 7, the last two are rearward facing
