I've been waiting for a list like this for some time now. It goes much more in depth than the list from cars.com that only ranks the cars and trucks by parts content.
So if I want to buy an "American" minivan, Odyssey > Sienna > T&C/Grand Caravan
An "American" midsize sedan, Camry > Altima > Accord > Sonata > Fusion
An "American" compact sedan, Cruze > Corolla > Civic > Focus > Elantra >>>> Mazda 3
The Malibu is more American than all of those and the Fusion will be moving up once Flat Rock production begins and 2.0 Ecoboost production begins in Ohio later this year. Compacts are correct.
Not sure what you mean by that. Fiat owns 60% of Chrysler right now and are looking for financing to purchase the rest from the UAW next year.
I mean that everything is still separate at this time. Chrysler's headquarters is still in Auburn Hills, Fiat in Turin, Italy. Believe it or not Chrysler is actually helping keep Fiat afloat now.
