Why get another car for the road? That doesnt sound like a toy unless you plan on putting serious work into it.
When I think of a toy.. I think powersports and off roading.
Why not something like a jeep or land rover. I think jeeps are a little played but the parts are all over the place. I like the Land Rover over the jeep though, Nice big V8s and I like the style so much more.

Because...
A.) 90% of my driving is on roads. I want something that I will USE
B.) My wife has a 4Runner that I can take anytime I want to get dirty.
C.) Its MY fantasy....not YOURS.
I'd go with the C5. Get a convertible or a targa, loads of fun and a 13 second car stock.
You can find some low mileage F-150 Lightning SVTs in your range. Not sure if a 2003-2004 Cobra SVT (aka Terminator) are in that range yet, but that would be the car to get if it was. Either are a low 12 second car with just a tune and some small bolt-ons.
True, just need some FI to solve that issue. Which is why I only drive turbo cars. I'm at 8500', a NA engine loses around 25% here. Turbo much less. Or get the Terminator and slap a smaller pulley on it and smoke just about everything.
Kenne Bell makes some serious blowers for mustangs and vettes. The sound is incredible.
