Yes unfortunately almost broke a Subaru release mechanism that way. Luckily I heard a bad sound and stopped it.

Years ago when keys were thin (before the chip) I superglued a spare key to the chassis of my truck. It was only used to tow the boat and the camper and to take hunting. I was always worried about losing the key and getting stuck, but hated leaving the truck unattended with a key in one of those magnetic boxes attached. A big drop of superglue on the head of the key. Cleaned the frame first. It never fell off and I bounced all over California.
