I recently saw an add on craigslist that showed a 2005 Acura RSX (49K miles) for sale at $3600.. you can see the Pictures here.

Now, I emailed the guy and asked him a bit about the car, seems legit so far, he gave me the vin # and everything. But the car is out of state. Its in Texas and I'm in Florida. He said that shipping is included in the price of the car, and I would pay for the car through a website called WorldPay. He says he's out of the country. He also said I could test drive the car for 5 days before deciding if I want it or not. But this all seems to good to be true.

Does anyone else think the same? Does this sounds like a scam?? Any questions that anyone suggests I should ask him?

HELP!!

ps. Here's the add (broken link)

An 05 with 50K on the ticker for only $3600? Like Drover said.... run away. Complete, utter scam. In fact, you should email the guy and give him an earful for being a lowlife piece of crap.

Want to find out for sure if this truly a scam or not? Offer to put the money in escrow (using a known escrow agency of your choice) during your 5-day test-drive and see if you ever hear from him again.

Go to a local car dealer, at least you can go back and ring his neck if he rips you off.
That deal is a scam without a doubt.
Why would anybody pay for a car before test driving it anyway ? !

That is a good question, my brother in-law bought a pickup sight unseen from e-bay, he had it shipped to a nearby town, he told me "Oh yeah it has a new motor and is just like a new truck" I told him to take tools with him when he picked it up. he spent a total of $5200.00 to get the truck, it's for sale for $800.00 and he expects to get $150.00.

Thanks everyone.. yeah I think this guy has other adds on cragslist too under different names.. I've just emailed another seller for another car and he said the same story that the acura guy gave me about being out of the country.

Yup, that "out of the country" line is the dead giveaway right from the get-go.

Remember the old saying:

If it sounds too good to be true...............it usually is.

When it comes to internet ads you can probably delete usually
